I too, had the pleasure of CJ’s company a few years back and was always amazed at the amount of train knowledge stored in his head. Spent a few hours with him in Sante Fe when he was living there and we had a very pleasurable lunch when I was on my way up to Chama. I first met him in San Diego during the convention there and remember him being quite proud of a Rio Grande A-B-B-A unit he had purchased. I hope he had the pleasure of running it.
During the times he would pop in to the chatroom, he would always give us a running commentary and sometimes post pictures from the C&TS. I always enjoyed that. He, more than anything, is what got me interested in the Rio Grande Southern RR.
May he rest in peace. He will be missed.
