When I was young whippersnapper, my mommy told me that it was infra dig to discuss politics, religion and sex in polite company.
However, by mutual agreement here when LSC first started after the LYSOL debacle, I was under the impression you could discuss all of them as long as the subject matter included all three.
e.g.
The politics of religious sex,
The religion of political sex.
The sex of religious politics.
We didn’t make drinking off limits while talking trains did we? You know in Clinton County, Illinois (named after DeWitt Clinton - not that other guy or gal) our liquor stores all have drive up windows? We don’t take drinking seriously, its just that everything else isn’t as serious after a couple of drinks. Course where my Dad came from in the Ozark Hills, you carried your shoes to church to put on when you entered the doors and if you were going out for a big Saturday night, you bought a new ax handle. It would be impolite and too much like family to hit somebody with any ole used or broken ax handle. Teeth were always optional.

No censorship here, though I have on occasion told people (both publicly and privately) to shut the hell up.
Basically, I view this site as my living room, and all y’all are invited to come in, bull about trains, show off what you’ve done, ask questions, and generally hang out. If you get out of hand, I’ll put things right, but I wont ask you to “not talk about XYZ because Joe over there might get hurt feelings” or “You cant comment on manufacturer Y because he’s an advertiser here”. Thats not my style.

That’s what I like about this site. A little heat now and then, but all in all, we do get along rather well. Most of the time anyway !!!
Hey, I’ve made the plunge into On30 finely !! Hope to use my RCS stuff in some of the engines. Yahhh, I know tight fit… Might have to use a boxcar but this is not a bad thing…
Am I on the right track?

I’m an old coot in LS on the net, been online at LSOL & many others since
'96. I’m seeing the same pattern on MLS that caused LSOL to go from the king
to a poor also-ran.

Well Jim is the reason I left MLS as he deleted the whole tread that I had posted my comment which was truly nothing bad at all … And he did that with his new found power just shortly after being made a Moderator !!! I see in the thread that seemed to be of interest that he made a comment long with others and then later tried to through water on the same thread !!!
Bah !! Who needs em ?? The other well know Moderator I heard, seemed to have got reamed and didn’t post for a long time. Man, I wouldn’t take the job even if you paid me…
Hey ! I into On30 now and looking forward to making a logging layout indoors. Yippee Skippy !!
Oh ya, until someone backs up a truck to the garage door and buys all of the GOOFY gauge stuff, I’ll still have that too…

It’s one of the rules over at MLS to not make fun of people, but I guess it’s OK if you’re a moderator? Or have you forgotten? I still remember your put down of my thoughts, and quite frankly, it’s one of the reasons I don’t post nearly as much over there. No great loss in your mind, I’m sure.

Oh oh, Dave was right! BTW TC, I have plenty of nice things to say about people and their creations, you just don’t read the fora when and where that happens. That can’t be helped. Aside from that, I call them as I see/perceive them. Consistency is a trait that would look good on some of the MLS crowd. Oh, since you inquired how tall I am: 173cm (according to my passport). I like to use the metric measurements, makes me look much taller.
Ah Bruce…no such thing! Bob allows that sort of discourse here and I am only doing what other members here have done. How does THAT make me the pot (or the kettle or whatever?) I said that I will treat the discussions here the same as everyone else…so where there are put-downs and innuendos, I can do the same. All for one and one for all!
I don’t honestly remember to what you are referring as to you and me, Bruce. I don’t remember your “thoughts” or my “put-down”. But then again, can’t I disagree with something someone says? Detail, please, on the “put-down” aspect. Interesting one person has the power to cause another to dump all the other people and information who make up the website. Some about noses to spite faces?
