Oh, Lord, Friar Devon. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-innocent.gif)

Not too bad, for a Jarhead Cannon Cocker.

Congratulations, Devon, I know its been a hard slog.

Well done, Devon, well done!!

Many Congratulations Devon! I know you have been working towards this for a long time! Well deserved!

Do we have to give him some slack??

No way in hell. (Heaven? Hell?) If anything we need to really get on him about his railroad now that he has all this free time on his hands.

Well done!

LOL you guys crack me up. Well I wouldn’t expect anyone to give me any slack. I am currently volunteering at a homeless shelter/Drug rehab center. . .No slack there. We are also getting ready to launch a Parolee Ministry working with Heroin and Meth addicts coming out of prison. . . I don’t expect any slack there. You guys are tame.

I will have a great deal more free time and feel the effects already. I too hope that translates in to RR construction.

PS

Chaplain Devon I have to admit has a weird ring to it that I am not getting used to very quickly. I have been working as a volunteer chaplain for about 6 months now and being introduced as “Chaplain Devon” or as “one of our chaplains” just seems foreign. But I humbly accept the challenge and it is hugely rewarding work.

What in hell did Devon actually do, and finish, to deserve the supposed “Standing Ovation” ?

Surely someone must be able to give some information, before too many more messages of congratulations are sent…

Did he finance the Revo return, or something…or is he just a descent guy, deserving a pat on the back, like most most of us do, once in a while.

Merry Christmas, everyone, and may you all be subjected to a safe, healthy, and enjoyable New Year…

…or, if it appeals to you more…Have a happy holiday season…

Fred. I finished my Master’s in Divinity-Chaplaincy. A 6 year endeavor beginning with my BS and ending here.

Happy Holidays to you as well.

Ha ha ha, why would we start doing that now?

Oh, so it all started with B.S.? Well, quite a few things do.

That is awesome Devon! A friend of mine has started a ministry traveling and going into prisons to do ministry, and I was blessed to join him on a weekend trip with a team a couple years ago. He is doing a program for released inmates to help them adjust to life outside as well. He would probably be more than happy to talk with you and help if he can. He runs a ministry called Breakloose International out of Michigan.

Ill’ look him up. I am always looking for connections. The Pastor leading our new program is a 20 veteran of prison ministry. It is great work in a place that really needs it.

There is probably a lot of real truth to this. I can’t leave my day job. It take care of the bills and the family and gives me the time I need to volunteer without restriction. If I were to work as a chaplain then I would have to worry about how to pay the bills. But this gives me the opportunity to do the work without the worrying about how to take care of my own. The down side is that I have to do that work night and weekends. For now I am hoping to keep it to the weekdays and keep the weekends free.

Famous last words?

He would be happy to hear from you, he is also always looking for connections. His name is Tim.

I guess “Fr.Fred” should add his congratulations too…I missed the description in the earlier posting.

Devon

Wow… Congratulations I’m impressed!

My mother went by her first name as Pastor Shirley. However in your case Pastor Devon sounds kinda dull.

What about Pastor D, Rev Dev or D.Rev something like that?

I really don’t think Reverend “Sins” Ley sounds to appropriate to me .

Once again Congratulations and what a wonderful Christmas gift you have given yourself!

Keep up the good work! How you choose to be designated matters not it’s what you do that makes the difference !

Merry Christmas !

Exactly Rooster the name means little. I honestly would just prefer Devon. But some people do feel better talking to pastor so and so or chaplain so and so. I will work with what ever makes the other more comfortable. What is important is the conversations that take place and the healing that comes.

One major accomplishment Reverend Devon. I’ll stay with the title you earned. Congratulations and may your flock be many

I like “Rev Dev” myself. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
