Cherokee Street Yard to the south of the complex and parts of the River Yard, between the engine house and the Mississippi River flood wall. There will be a number of designated interchange tracks and industry tracks for the American Car Foundry, Terminal Railroad’s Carroll Street Yard, Dorcas Street for the Manufacturers Railroad and industries on Second Street, Brewery Trackage and approach to both the MacArthur Bridge going to Gateway Yard across the river and Mopac’s Lesperance Street Yard.

I spent a lot of time in this area in the 1980’s watching the switching and waiting for access to the US Army Corps of Engineers Base at the foot of Arsenal Street, which is now US Coast Guard Base St. Louis (first line of defense, which ever side falls off) (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
