Spend more time with my oldest when he was little and save more for retirement.
make even more mistakes.
making mistakes and squaring things out afterwards - was by far the most interesting part of my life.

My New Years Resolution is that I’ve decided to stick to replying only to interesting recent posts. (that I have recently discovered, ahem)
And ruin all the participation you’ve elicited ? We’d more than likely have to re-name you Scrooge.

…well, David, I did just come across a signup link for the LSC Convention in Chama that caught my eye, that is BOTH interesting AND recent…
Yesterday evening as I drove past the Downingtown train stop, I spotted an Amtrak engine, with what looked like two neon lighting strips running the length of the body. Have you seen this? Is this new?
I can’t call it the Downingtown Station since the station house burn down years ago. They keep talking about building another station, not yet. I did not read all 698 previous posts on this thread, maybe you already posted about this engine.
Wayne,
I have not and no I have not posted about it in this thread as they are now Seimens locos running the Keystone Corridor. But they still use the cab control car for push pull service from Harrisburg to Philly.
Probably the new ALC Charger Locomotives, they have a big screen area on the back half that is lit up inside with LED lights
No, the loco I saw had 2 neon or whatever, lite up strips, down the side of the body like this:

The engine, not the one pictured had a lower skirt between the trucks and the neon dipped down in the middle. Wish I could have gotten a picture.
Hmmm, that’s interesting, would love to see it!
Sometimes I believe it would have been a WHOLE, HOLE lot easier to just model freight in my area?
BTW… that horn action was for
cuz I was waving at the conductor like a left handed monkey in a banana tree !
I miss the caboose on trains. It’s like a sentence ending without a period
WTF (5678) (9101) (112)
Code 20 requirement met ^^^^^^^^^^
Nobody cares anyway cause it’s old school back in the day (in the hood)
Is your mock up removable Dan ? If so very cool…as it’s not that easy (at least for me) even if it looks like it is!!
Mines not all fancy like that it’s just a ghetto build from back in the day. I started with some PVC board and went from there, pinning the face with cut off 8D finish nails and pinning the lights and pilot with /32" brass. Everything is a press fit but sometimes and it works well.
However if you don’t do an inspection in years and just get them out to play with them this is what happens!
