And you wonder why I killed the off-topic forum in the first place… It had nearly 3x the amount of activity than the rest of the forums combined. Its not coming back.
So maybe everyone likes the endless stream of “look at this stupid ebay auction”… I’m tired of hearing them just like Bob is, but it seems everyone forgot the other thing mentioned in the OP:
The saga of a clogged drain and a drunken landlord who could not find his wrench.
It was not entertaining, nor related to trains.
I realize the written description on this particular forum, but ALSO I believe Bob indicated that all posts need to be about trains in ALL forums.
Remember the off-topic forum was supposed to be non-train, but enough people went overboard so even this was cancelled…
I’m just suggesting to park non-train stuff somewhere else.

Not what I expected, a little throw the dog a bone type of thing (no pun intended to the above posts) would have been nice.
I am disappointed in the totalitarian attitude, not with the off-topic forum but in general.
You should have expected that type of behavior.

And, yes, totalitarian. My site, my rules, everyone knows them. They’re pretty simple. Train site, about trains, no personal attacks, try and stay on topic. Worked fine for 13 years so far.
Some people like to run RIGHT UP to the line, thumb their noses at me and say “But I’m not breaking the rules!”. I’ve said it before, acting like you’re 5 will get you treated like it, too.
