Large Scale Central

Bluestone Southern's Road to Memphis

I have to cut through the industrial park to get there, right. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)lol. Good thing Andy didn’t see that! (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-sealed.gif)

But I heard about it… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-sealed.gif)

LOL. I may have told on myself previously. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-yell.gif)(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

And the befuddled look when you got to where you were going…

I like to call that…I don’t understand Andy’s math. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)lol.

Oh, the “new” math.

LOL! So, Andy is the originator of common core math!

Common core math only goes to 10… I hate having to remove my shoes and socks… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Yea, and its really embarrassing if I have to count to 21 in public…

LOL!!

More progress this weekend…

Saturday we started digging out for the roadbed… Got it dug out and the initial installation of aglime for the roadbed was packed in…

Once the roadbed was started, we laid track across the bridges…

Then we laid the track on the roadbed… Track is pretty much laid the entire length of the wall… Where the darker ties are in the middle of the bottom picture will be a cross over between tracks… 4 #6 switches and a crossover connecting them together…

Andy,

Looking very nice. Tell Jane that she’s done a great job!(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)

How many new trains will this extension bring?

And where does the shuttle bus drop you off?..(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Some additional Pictures:

Track as it comes off the Bridge… Track will run along the front so that plants can be placed between the track and the wall for Freeman Spur…

Freeman Spur will sit on the right, on the flat area.

Below is a shot of the crossover of the mainline…

End of track so far… Memphis will actually be just past the bottom of the picture, and more to the left.

Bruce, actually, the only new train will be the local run to Freeman Spur… That line will split off just before the Memphis double track starts off the bridges from Woodlawn… This line will support the Thru freight to Memphis, the unit coal train, and Amtrak…

Basically, the whole idea was to separate Memphis from Evansville…

There’s a shuttle bus???

Will my train come equipped with gps…incase I get lost. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-surprised.gif)

Impressive progress! Can’t wait to see it!

I thought of you guys with the nice weather over the weekend. Looks like you made good progress. Glad the ground was workable.

The wall for the Memphis yards got started this weekend…

Below is looking at the Memphis wall yard area from the ““Road to Memphis”” mainline…

Below is the wall as it looked when we ran out of retaining wall bricks, Saturday afternoon…

And, yes, more bricks are enroute…

Very cool, Andy! I thought you guys would take advantage of the cool weather. Looks great!
