So Andy, do you have enough room for these 2 beauties or should I keep them?

Hand them over, Jim… Those baby’s been away too long as it is… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Aaron, there’s always new motive on the horizon… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

no such thing as to much power right Andy(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Actually have some new motive power for your place as well, just gotta save up for a while to do airwire installs in them, and a little bashing, but believe it or not they are diesel powered(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)

Diesel powered??? Are you sick??? Have you seen a Doctor??? I hope it’s a good prognosis… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-sealed.gif)

He probably caught some exotic disease down there in Honduras…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

well, I’m definitely sick, but that’s beside the point (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)I just keep telling myself its a gas mechanical under those modern looking hoods(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)

Actually, I got a pair of Pennsy S4’s in trade for another engine I had. so far just track power, but one day I hope to get them on airwire and battery with sound for running down there. Maybe Jim will kidnap mine and they will return done(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif) hahaha

DAD…let the boy alone I got him covered!

Now send me my college fund you promised so I can spend it and help him out!

Gee Andy, how do you really feel?

I am not into them newfangled, cantankerous, unproven, diesel-lectric thangs neither.

That is some impressive sky work!

Sean, that sky is all Jane’s work… She’s done a fantastic job with it…

For those asking about a ramp from the lower level to the upper. Look right behind the hoppers on the right side of the picture on the lower level. This ramp has been the start of the rise for quite sometime. There may be more ramps, elevators, escalators and even skyways by the time this is done, but there is and has been a start floating around in his head for awhile.

Good Lord Jane has been busy since the last op’s!

LOL! looking great!

The lift bridge for the inclined track is completed… Below is a shot of the first train over the bridge…

The leased Cotton Belt GP-40 is hauling the ““Overlook local”” freight load behind it… The bridge is hinged and swings up to the left in the picture… This is the entrance into the layout from the east side of the basement, from the workshop area…

More of Jane’s art work of the sky can be seen in the background… That is the north wall in the basement…

Love that smile Andy!

Started on the Peninsula in the basement and have been working on the lower level freight yard extension for Outside Ops sessions…

Below on the right is the start of the 10 ft diameter half circle to connect with other side of the Peninsula…

Below picture is the left half of that half circle which connects it to the newer 20ft long yard…

Below shows the area for the freight car part of the yard… 5 tracks on the right is for freight car storage and the far left track is for the lead

to the RDC’s and Business passenger car storage…

Below shows the switch configuration and the RDC/Business passenger car storage…

With that being almost completed it just about finishes off the freight yard tracks for the lower level… There is a slight more work to be done with the tables to make easier access to some switches and such…

Tell Jane the sky is taking shape. The pics show the progression of steps (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Again, I always love to see pics of this RR!! Thanks. Great job.

What material are you using between the tracks and the table top ? Man that’s looking real nice Andy !

Sean, on that lower level, I am using a 1/4 inch foam insulation… It comes as an accordion package (2 ft by 4 ft) from Lowes or Home Depot…

I paint it with a dark gray Primer paint, then staple it to the plywood base… Use it to deaden the sound of running on plain plywood…

Great pics! Looks good! Be nice to give it a try at the September Ops. On the 15th and 16th of September. Its coming quick.

All this indoor work looks like a fine installation. …Looking forward to coming for my first visit to see the whole railroad soon…
