AHHH, totally different critter. No way to screw that type hatch casting down.
Trackside uses very hard brass for their castings, sometimes it is really difficult to clean them up and make them look smooth.
The hole for charging jack or on/off switch, or?
Rick, charging jack. On/off switch is underneath the tender floor along with the up/down volume toggle switch for my Phoenix sound system. BTW, I love battery. So simple. Just flip the switch and you’re good to go. Now I have to convert my other 10-wheeler and a 2-8-0 Barry conversion, if I ever get around to it.
I used CA to glue the Ozark casting to my tender.
I’ve also used CA on lots of other things on my layout, including gluing the styrene angles to the sides of the plate girder bridges. No problems.
