In other words, don’t Devon it.
Bob, one idea you might think about is a “Shop Watch” forum catagory. Over on one of the UK based forums, they have such a catagory to post under. This way when you see various large scale from collections/estates show up on the market at the shop you just visited, you can pass along the info to others that might be searching for this train to purchase. Just one little way we all can help each other find stuff to buy, but to help the remaining dealers sell and be able to find more for us to buy. Most of us do not live near a good large scale shop, I am fortunate to have lived near Watts Train Shop till it closed and now Zionsville Train Depot. In the past when others were looking for a certain engine, I have passed on that he had one. One was a Bman K27. The forum member was super happy and bought the engine the following day and had it shipped to him. With many shops surviving on collections and estates, this would help many of us looking for used items and hard to find road names ect. Just an idea. Mike
Mike, that is a good idea. I did post about the truck I found, since many folks are looking for vehicles. But a dedicated forum for such finds would probably be better then posting in General Discussion. And having a dedicated forum for such finds, folks may be more inclined to post what they saw.

Hey folks
In the last several months I’ve had (surprisingly, actually) a non-trivial amount of requests from people for beginner-level “Whats all this about” kind of information about Large Scale trains. Very basic information we all take for granted (various scales, approximate costs, how to get started, Manufacturers, etc…). Something in a non-forum format. I’m thinking a separate section under Articles for it. Opinions? -=Bob
I tend to refer peoples to; http://girr.org/girr/tips/tips.html , where there is a quite a bit of “beginner” info. imho
