Bashing a simple building

Where'd you find the "outdoor" variety of Folk-Art? I've not seen it at the usual haunts, but if it's a new product, that wouldn't be surprising. I haven't bought any in a year or so.

Kevin,

At WalMart on my semi-annual visit.

Part of the visit is a reminder just how utterly busy and crowded WalMart is.

Kevin: I get "FolkArt Outdoor Opaque Acrylic Paint" (label quote) from Village Crafts by Michaels. There's a somewhat limited color selection and it's in the area that has the mission models and bird houses (as in 'outdoor' stuff) rather than the regular acrylic paint section. Actually quite well hidden on a bottom shelf.

As I was crawling on the floor, finding the colors I wanted, a clerk came by and asked if I was OK!! She also said she had never seen anyone else buy the outdoor paint.

Hope this helps.

Happy RRing,

Jerry

Knowing the plastic that building is made of , I would use car spray , including the primer filler to hide the joint . Car paint seems to last OK on cars
and is very colour consistent .

Jerry, “Michaels” would have been my next stop, about 10 or more big box stores all in that same development. No they didn’t make me crawl at WalMart, but that would be a good yarn. “They made me crawl for my merchandise”

Both sides painted, the one side is a bit darker on purpose. It’s the side where there’s more “not quite moss” matter growing. From what I’ve noticed, depending on orientation and surroundings, roofs can be a different “grunginess”.

Looking good so far.

BTW, Michael’s has another type of outdoor acrylic, DecoArt’s “Patio Paint”. The label says it’s for terra cotta, concrete and wood but it seems to be ok on plastic too (so far). It too comes in a fairly limited number of colors (including some metallics) and isn’t with the rest of the craft paints. I found it in area where they have miniture terra cotta flower pots, along with dried and plastic flowers.
