I used 3/4 inch rubber stall matt for my barnyard. It worked great!
You can find it at places that sell stuff for horses, oddly enough.

Thank you BOTH for your reply’s. At this time I am using the brown Coconut Matting that you see in the bottom of hanging flower baskits and planters. At this tiime it seems to be holding up just fine but winter will be here soon and that will tell all.
