Aren’t you saving it “as is” since its a collector’s item? I mean, it must be, since they don’t make them anymore. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Last time I was at ECLSTS, I saw a couple of complete sets on sale for $100+. Mind you, that was a 3-4 years ago. Didn’t someone say they sold 900,000 of them? Mine still works as far as I know.

This is for Fred. We can’t wait forever Devon!

Yes, and I saw a $25 box fan that Hills sold, on sale for $135 on Ebay, because its “rare”. After all the Hills line of stores closed years ago, so you cant get that fan anymore. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

OK hang on folks. Having a tough time getting my video uploaded from phone.

must be real here’s a video

Joe - That’s it! Thanks for the video.

Bachman!! Bring that baby back and sell it at WalMart, Costco, and Target. HOWEVER, have some “suggested application” photos of it around some plants with the caveat “brass track shown outside application” etc. Maybe, just maybe, we can get some families interested in some trains at home…

If family interest can be measured by the visitors we are having while preparing for two-day Railroad Days in Fullerton, there is life in the hobby for kids – and dads! We know we will draw over 34,000 this year - not counting the thousand kids with dad 'n mom – seeing the display of Disney’s loco, the 4-8-4, a BNSF new giant diesel, two dinning cars (1940s) and the cabooses, and the RR model modules. April 30th and May 1st, Fullerton Station.

Devon,

Yep, now it’s bonafide! Sounds like your train had a little collision at the end there bud. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Wendell, yes it would be nice if someone would do something like that. But the only “large scale” trains I see are at the grocery stores, and they are the El Cheepo battery powered sets, and only around Christmas time. I remember the small Aristo sets at the landscape centers years ago, but they went away a long time ago.

Wow. Those two videos were nostalgic. I’d forgotten what a funny chuff they had!

The gear whine sounds just like the one I had, that I tried to swap out the chassis on. Mine was the first generation track power one.

That is exactly what I did with my #10. It was a gen2 and I swapped in a gen 5 Annie chassis and a BBT pilot truck. It is excellent now. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-smile.gif)

Well, the annie chassis wouldn’t fit unless I modified the air tanks.tanks . When I took a closer look at mine, I realized that it looked kinda worse for wear, so that project was shelved.

It hit my foot and derailed.

I have not decided the fate of this loco. More than likely it will get added to the 10 wheeler pile for parts. Though I might just save the drive train and R/C set up for an on the fly future MIK project.
