I don’t know as Aristo was ever in house production. I remember the garbage european steam engines they imported in Half Zero in the 50’s.
REA was originally Korea, wasn’t it, before Aristo grabbed the line?
They’ve been importers, waving with the wind of foreign manufacture.
Dave,
I may well be mistaken but as REA Distributors was a late 1980s LGB American distributor and the Polks were at one stage also distributors, then REA was possibly part of the Polk empire although I believe REA Distributors was based in mid-eastern USA and not around NJ. I could be confusing the two names with each other. REA was originally made in Korea and also released by Aristo as made in Korea. Things then went a little quiet over the LGB dispute in the 1990s.
The train part of the hobby empire seems to have been all imported, although the aircraft side may have been manufactured locally.
One thing that finally did change was that AC finally started to carry parts. Lewis stated at one time we do not just have spare parts lying around on shelves as no money in that. Later RJD
