Oh! Mike, save your pennies … A 7/8" scale Maine Forney live steamer is in the works…should be really cool! Bigger than my Emma Forney. Check it out on the train department web site!
My friend and I have both been watching the developement of that engine with envy, not sure it will be in our budget but I know he is thinking about it. Its gonna be a monster of a small engine!

Fairymead has a narrower more fine scale wheel tread, where as my Emma is wider and more tollerant of slight gauge variations. Robby had some of those issues with his new raised layout last fall. Fairymead would derail but Emma didn’t care.

Mike, The tires on the Fairymead are the SAME as all other locos from Accucraft Except the Emma that has 8mm tires. Being the prototype had small wheels and not steamroller wheels, we opted to keep the standard 6mm tire width that every other Accucraft loco has from Rubys to BigBoys. The new Forney will have correct for the model tires/wheels so they will be larger.
