Another problem is outdoors. On the ground off the ground still suffers from weather effects. Buildings deteriorate over time. damage from wind, hail, rain and show. animals, and in Bruce’s yard acorns by the ton. Left outside all year or everything put away still means hours of care for a few hours of enjoyment. Kind of like an unused pool in the yard. This makes me glad that I’m designing my new layout to be 100% elevated. The lowest point would be 36-48" above the ground. But much like a deck, it will need maintenance. These kinds of conversations make me really reconsider Proto48 indoors if I had a basement or a large space inside. But even indoor layouts seem to end at times as well.

Sorry to see this RR come to an end, though it’s certainly understandable. Even the minimal maintenance required by my layout gets to be a chore sometimes.

Jon is correct as Bruce did sign my virgin ass YEARS ago. He also signed Shawn’s VERY virgin ass as well ! However being the whore that I am I had more folks sign my ass and “I need several more to sign it as well”! I not a betting man but I’m betting Shawns ass is only signed by Bruce after all these years and he probably has NEVER washed it since Bruce signed it !
Perhaps I need to pass my ass around for more signatures! Not sure if Shawn will do the same but if he does I will sign it if he asks politely. He’s still young yet but should be very grateful that Bruce signed his ass! The man is still learning and carries a my little pony purse to work every day (that’s another story)!!

The claim for the viaduct has been relinquished, so it’s back on the list as available! It IS pretty long.
Still have all those Dwarf Alberta Spruce as well as any of the track support…And the “shed” can go!

Well, it’s all basically GONE now. Thanks to all who came by and got stuff - it DID make it easier to send it to good homes. (I still have some BIG Dwarf Alberta Spruce and all of the track supports - so now’s the time to say IF you want it!)
A little bit of a report from the receiving end.
It’ll be awhile until I get my layout extended to the turntable area of Virginia City. However, thanks to Bruce’s work, I now have a bridge for that time. Until then, I decided to at least try to display the bridge properly, and also use that as an opportunity to display another of Bruce’s treasures: Tweestsie Coach No. 12.
I completely rearranged the shelves and lights for this true Queen of my collection. I intend to do more, but for now I needed a suitable throne for her – which is Bruce’s beautiful turntable bridge.

More update. Some lights for No. 12 went in today…
… and brackets for the viaduct were received, stained and installed today as well.

I’ll clean and repaint the viaduct and tidy things up better. And hopefully get a little back-and-forth train going along this new 16’ long shelf.
