Really.
They got confused by their own application or they looked at your profile and figured a RR tycoon would be a ready customer.

Figured Id follow up on how these are going. Ive had Google Ads running for a bit over a year. In that time theyâve earned me $674.38 toward offsetting the cost of running the site. Not bad. I think Ive been pretty restrictive as to what ads run, I havent heard any reports of browser hijack ads, or anything that hovers over the page.
Some other statistics. There have been 2,191,203 page views of pages that have Google Ads on them. You guys have clicked through 1910 times. âCostâ to Google for those ads is 32c per thousand, and purchases, etc⊠as a result of those ads was 44c per thousand. So theyâre profitable for Google, and, hense, for me.
Still debating on whether or not to continue with them. They do offset a pretty good chunk of running the site.
If they help you with the site cost, Iâd say, ââkeep themââ⊠No reason the site cost should come out of your pocket⊠Just my opinionâŠ
Oh hey there ARE ads at the bottom(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-surprised.gif)
To be honest I havenât really ever noticed themâŠ
âŠooooh, new Scion FRS (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)
Bob,
I see them, but they donât bother me as much as ads on my isp home page do. Heck I pay too much for that, but here Iâm understanding and sometimes amused by the ads Iâm shown. Not sure why they show my ads for stuff I just bought, but they do.
John
I say keep them. Once in a while there will be some hot looking babe selling T-Shirts that causes my wife to question what site Iâm on, but other than that itâs all good. I click through when I see something interesting. Nothing bad has ever happened and no alarms go off in my anti-everything software.
Keep them, Bob. But just so you know that when you are not around, I will get the Hot Babe, and sometimes ads for Russian Wives.
I also try to remember to click on them sometimes so you get money - uh, not the Russian Wives. I have to draw the line somewhere with you!

John, thatâs because google put cookies on your computer, and knows what youâre interested in. So you get adds related to what you have looked at recently. As for Louâs Russian wives⊠I get adds for lingerie, little drones, HO trains, Jeep accessories, and computer stuff.
Edit for Louâs Russian wives
I Rarely, if ever, scroll down that far so I donât notice them. Hell if your makin a buck or 2 offâem, keepâem.
Bob, I place my vote for you to keep them if they help pay the bill. If you get more because I click on them I can waste a few minutes a day clicking each one I see.(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif) Some of us like seeing the girls in ridiculous T-shirts

Yeah I know that, my point it is usually something I just bought and donât care about the advertisement.
After searching for things droll and boring, Iâve been known to do a âracyâ search just to liven up the ads!(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)

You must not scroll at all - the first ads are just under Members On-Line and Other Pages in the second screen down. Most are pretty clean so they donât annoy.

Well, you know that Google presents these ads based on your search and browsing history. I guess weâre both in trouble (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-embarassed.gif)

Rooster kinda agreeâs with Lou here. His credit card is maxed out and he still havenât laid that FabergĂ© egg that he was promised!

I donât believe that Jon , if that was the truth I would have seen Victorian cove molding and bananaâs screwing advertisements and I havenât seen them yet!
Iâm not sure what kind of tracker Google has installed on my PC, but when I searched for tires last week on Craigslist I got tire ads for 3 days on LSC. Iâve seen similar correlations many times in the past - mostly when I search using Google while signed in.
on the google Ad area you should also see a solid arrow and a square in the upper right corner. If you click on the arrow you will be directed here
use at your discretion
Hey guys, why donât we have a âclick throughâ party once or twice a year to support LSC?
I can take a half hour and just pound the bejezus of the ads if it will help, just think what would happen if 100 of us did this?
Bob, what does it take to âclick throughâ, do we just need to click on the ad? How soon can we click again?
Greg
Greg, I was doing that a few times a week in the beginning, on my cell phone when I wasnât logged in. I dunno if it helped or not.
