I don’t sell on eBay, but I do purchase. Like Vic, I set up a separate checking account just for PayPal. The bank knows what the account is for. There is seldom more than $20-30 bucks in it at any time, unless I have just made a purchase. Them the exact amount of the sale plus a dollar or two go into the account for PayPal to draw from (echeck). I would never attach a credit card to PayPal. I have heard too many horror stories of cards being charged for someone elses stuff and a long drawn out battle to prove it wasn’t theirs. At least with the checking account the most I can get dinged for is about $100, cuz the bank won’t overdraw more than that. So far I have not had any issues, but then I have only been working with PayPal for about a year. Prior I had been using the postal money orders, which started to add cost to the purchase and inconvenience to the overall transaction, henceforth why I started to us PayPal.
My tuppence worth.
