We’ll be bringing Sully’s buildings and accessories in. There is a whole house for keeping them and the trains. Not yet. I’ve been out all morning and not wearing shoes yet.

What’s the movie? “Union Pacific” that they lay the track on the snow to keep moving forward? Sounds like a plan.
All my buildings stay out year round. Being buried in ice and snow helps preserve everything. Ill take in my small details like people, animals and barrels. The line stays open all winter and is always ready for operations. Whenever it gets buried, I clear the line right away. I not normal but I do love running in the winter and in the snow.
I leave my buildings out all year 'round. I bring in the small bits, and I never leave anything with motors out any time of year. But then, when it gets too cold for me (like today) at 43ºF this morning before sunrise, I just think of my daughter in upstate NY and smile.
Dick, my friend; Come visit your fine young daughter, and realize that you are rather close to Ottawa.
This gives you reason to visit Ottawa, and see a bit of our operations.
Yes; Winter does give us a bit of a break, and a chance to rest up for the next Spring and Summer, but 43F is not at all cold, in fact it’s a bit warm for storing bheer…

I taking advantage of retirement to live where there’s plenty of water for a garden in the summer and live where there’s no snow in the winter. Cathy loves to garden, so we are not willing to give up Minnesota completely yet.
I don’t have to deal with snow and ice here in Sandy Eggo, so everything stays outside except for motive power and certain details such as figures. However, if we did have a harsher climate I’d still have to leave everything out – if I had room to keep all that stuff indoors, i’d probably just have an indoor layout instead.

Upstate, NY. Where about? I’m in Buffalo and I definitely bring everything in for the winter. Especially last winter- anyone remember SNOW-VEMBER. 8 feet of snow before Thanksgiving.

Nice photos and back story Daktah.
I was going to run some trains this afternoon when the temp hit 60+ which is high for this time of year, but after a few laps, filthy track, derailments, a broken coupler and a popped fuse it suddenly wasn’t worth the struggle. I retreated to the basement to continue work on the Garrett.
I miss the Summer already.
But, how can the train be late to Wall station, if the station is on the train?
