A new steel bridge

Nice looking bridge Tom, I like the design.

I’d also recommend powder coating…if it is feasible and in budget. But it sure looks nice and protects the metal well.

Our twin six foot steel bridges were powder coated. It obviously cost more then paint, but I haven’t had to do anything to them in 10 plus years. I also handle the bridges a lot as they go over an access road and need to be removed from time to time. So we thought that powder coating would likely be the best option.

Wow, I bet the trains look great going over that bridge! Very nice.

Thanks Joe.

And yes the trains do look great on the bridge. You can ride through the bridges in this video:

I’ve got to shoot another video as a lot has changed since that one.

Love how your railroad wanders through the woods. That is a very cool bridge.

Here’s the 7ft steel bridge for spanning between the mountains.

I figure on building it PVC sockets to set in like I did the smaller bridge. Now that Sully sees this one powder coated, he wants to powder coat the one he painted. Wonder if I know anybody who has a sand blaster. Dad had one, but I expect it’s long gone by now.

Oooo I like that bridge Tom.

I also like the “carved” rock work.

“Buying that bridge was no mistake. That’s going to be worth a lot of money to us some day.” Oliver Hardy.

There’s a big thread, I think under “modeling” about how Dennis Rayon taught us to build mountains. Since then, I’ve improved screwed up his technique a bit.
