Good day - I just completed a new animation for Pittsburgh’s Children’s Hospital.
It centers on a very cool gizmo that I printed with my 3D printer.
My notes, photos and a video are here:

Now that’s pretty neat. Those 3D printers are getting awfully close to reasonable. What other things are you planning on printing?

Bruce- I have done a number of things from the Thingiverse.com site (plant signs for the garden, mounts for my helmet camera for the bike, etc) and have designed a some garden railroad items including a base for a speed sensor for my multi-scale train speedometer and a replacement smoke stack for my Shay.
It is a very capable and flexible gizmo - great fun, too!

How easy is it to use? Could I do a headlight, or trucks?

Bruce - the learning curve on the design software is pretty steep - I use Sketchup - there are other options but they are all something that you have to spend time with.
I would suggest downloading design software (like Sketchup) and giving it a try before buying a printer.
