Large Scale Central

7/8s 0-4-2 Fairymead Prototype

Hi Jason:

  1. will an electric motored version be offered?

  2. what is the price?

  3. it would be nice if you followed up this project with the same loco with a pilot deck, single axle pilot truck, and two axle trailing bogie with a longer fuel bin.

I hope Accucraft decides to produce many of the WW&F locos, especially WW&F # 10.

There are no current plans for an electric version.

Pricing please contact me

There will be no other versions of this model in steam or otherwise. Same goes for other paint version.

I, too am a big fan of WW&F #10 and have drawn up a 7/8" scale drawing from actual measurements…one day I will build one.

I may modify the Fairymead to be a (fictitional) Maine Forney…Wood cab and pilot, double axle trailing truck, larger tank and hopefully make it look as good as a Forney as it does as is!

Shawn, I was banned from posting on that site about three years ago after referring to those persons for whom the letter’s LGB are sacred text, for daring to point out that -

a. The day that LGB produced a model to a constant scale all over, would be the day the sun rose in the west.

b. ALL our trains, LGB, Bachmann Aster, AccuCraft - whatever - are nothing more than playthings.

However, their collective ire was raised to boiling level after I referred to them as ‘Red Box Foamers’ and how extremely strange was their habit of making movies of the ‘sacred unboxing ceremony - from porch step to table top…’ I actually received threats of bodily harm to my person if I DARED to attend a pal’s get-together. I attended, and nothing happened.

Shame, that, as I’m extremely fond of a bit of well-contrived mayhem, and used to get paid a lot of money for causing it to happen in very large amounts to Her Majesty’s enemies.

LM Anglo-French AO. All very well said, Tac!

use bbcode , change my * to [ and # to ] the the below statement

IMG#picturelinkhere/IMG#

Rule: As the scale gets larger, the prototype modelled shall be smaller, so all models in all scales and categories shall as a result be precisely the same size.

'Course, another way of visually comparing the scales would be to have a lineup of figures…

Since I had a few emails about measurements of the Fairymead here we go.

8" Tall 6.25" Wide and 13" Long

Hey that will fit through my bridges with out modification! yeah!!!
