Large Scale Central

7/8 scale covered bridge

My latest project. Complete except for painting.

It is 6 feet long and 2 feet wide.

And almost 8,000 individual shakes stapled and glued on.

My 7/8 Climax fits nicely.

Very nice looking bridge …

Beautiful!!!

John;

Very nice bridge with an interesting design. I was once told at a historical site that horses and mules liked covered bridges because the bridge resembled an open barn!

I made a trip over to Steve King’s (another 7/8 enthusiast) place in Rocky Mount, VA last Saturday morning for a “battery/steam-up”. Unfortunately, due to the soggy remnants of Hurricane Delta, it got cancelled. I did stay long enough to see some of the cars Steve is building for The Train Department.

Cheers, David Meashey

Amazing and beautiful!

That is a beautiful bridge John! Is it a combination railroad and vehicle bridge?

Rick,

If a 7/8 or 1/12 vehicle fits, then yes.(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-smile.gif) It can be a pedestrian or carts, etc bridge as well.

Very impressive. Should look great on the layout. What color(s) are you painting it?

Dang, that’s a thing of beauty.

Quite remarkable, John. A lot of work involved I can see, but a fine result.

This the bridge that inspired me. As to color, I really haven’t decided yet. But it will be something light

like white or light green.

Amazing work!

Awesome woodworking John!

Nice craftsmanship… Bridge looks wicked awesome… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Excellent work as usual…Got MORE prototype inspiration pics or locations?

Edit for more!

Your work has become even more impressive - that’s a heck of a prototype to copy. Well done.
