Large Scale Central

2nd Annual RGS Ops 2018

Please take notice!

Saturday. Warm. Very comfortable. So nice! Yeah, I don’t think I really want to come back in June, do I???

Sunday. Oops. Back to February 68th! Holy moley! What was Ken thinking? Holy CRAP! It got COLD!!! (OK, the Canadiens were still warm, but that really doesn’t mean anything, does it?)

But, dang. Doesn’t that Ken “boy” throw a mean “ops” session? Wow! Well done, Ken!

Page 5??? You piker!!! I suspect we’re up to page 8 by now?

Anyway…something about something…it just narrows it down!

Great pics and comments, Guys! I have to agree with a great party by Ken and also “the lady of the house”, Bev. We had a well thought out track plan with good ops, good food, descent weather (hey? it could have been a lot worse) and great friends. Sorry that some didn’t make it, that we thought might show up, surprised others did and wish many more could have come. Jan and I had a great time and have it on the “short list” for next year. That is GOD willing and the creek don’t rise too high.

Oh yeah! Ever the gentleman, Ric. Well done.

At least you didn’t do an eat and run like some did at Easter.

I enjoyed the Hell outta Saturday and got my mojo going again. Great seeing all and thanks for the LSC friendship cause my boy says I have no friends but I proved him wrong didn’t I ! Or did I ?

Once again thanks for the hospitality Ken and Bev!

Still thinking Johnny "CONCRETE " Radder

HAH!!! This is my new favorite picture. Thanks to all who took pics, edited and posted.

I’m still not quite sure how one can get dirty knees on a “Raised Roadbed” layout ?

I am thinking it’s only you Rooster, and nobody would’ve even said anything until you brought it up. Dang, it was good to see you again.

Just finished unloading the car. Our back-roads route to Reading, then 222N to I-78 took 1/2 hour longer than the trip down over the Delaware Memorial Bridge, but it was worth it. Except for the section from Allentown to I-287 it was much less stressful traffic volume/ It took us 6.5 total as we spent a lot of time (2 hours) stopped.

Operations at Ken’s were a blast. It was great seeing everyone, some of whom I missed during my quick visit to York. Got to meet some of the Canadian contingent for the first time and visit with plenty of familiar faces from both sides of the border including one Railroad Clown who seemed to have misplaced his red nose!

Can’t wait to do it again up at Bob & Stan’s.

I have just a few pictures from the point-n-shoot. I’ll download them tomorrow and see if any can be posted on a family site.

Awesome shots Roos!!! I saw you lying in the wet grass to get some of those. It was worth it.

Yes Dave, you can tell “the boy” the Rooster has friends.

Nope, Let him wonder.(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif) Hehehe

After the rain pushed through on Saturday nite, the temps dropped quite a few degrees. But that didn’t seem to deter anyone. They just bundled up a bit more. The sun did make an appearance for a little while.

Sunday morning, bright and early, the crews get ready. L-R, Doug, John, and Steve. (the Canadian Invaders)

Ric and “Half-Jon” work in Mancos while “Santa” records the event.

John and Steve try to figure out what to do in Hesperus.

John looks befuddled…

They ran 2 trains, then broke for lunch. After fueling up we ran the sweeper trains and put things away. Sure looks lonely out there now.

I just want to thank everyone that showed up for this. I had a great time.

I love this pic of John secretly checking for his wallet , once he heard Rooster was there …

Great pics and it looked like a lot of fun !!

Rooster’s going to need a larger ass! By the way his operating technique leaves something to be desired, could explain the dirty knees. Great meeting everyone and having the opportunity to learn switching moves from the guru, Rick. But still have to revert back to the “Canadian” operating technique from time to time. At least I was wearing shoes! Thanks Ken great time.

Crap! Where did all these multiple posts come from? I blame Rooster!
