if you have lots of undercuts, forget metal-molds. you need a flexible mold to take out the piece.
for inserts, you could try something like this. (i don’t know how they are called in english, but they are to make holes for shoe laces.)

Or you could use ball bearings.

I am gonna do some more research on different resins. I saw a clear or crystal type of resin at Hobby Lobby. I am going to go there maybe Saturday and check it out… I like to go there because of the 40 % off coupon for one item you can use… the Mold stuff I i use is made by Amazing Mold Rubber … it is silicone base.
