13,000 year old tools found in Boulder,Co

Gravity is a theory in science, yet it’s existance can be effectively proven by putting on swim trucks, walking to the end of a diving board and stepping off into the water. The burden of evidence in favor of evolutuon, big bang, string theory etc, all these mere scientific theories, is far far greater than that of a big Monty Pythonesque hand coming out of a cloud and with a finger poofing the Earth into existance.

As I understand it, scientific “fact” MUST be observable and repeatable, else it is theory.

The THEORY of evolution can not be said to be less than or greater than the THEORY of creation. Both theories have documented scientific hypotheses to claim the possibility of each model.

We obviously will not settle this here, and I believe as (apparent) adults here we could discuss this or any other topic rationally without ad hominen attacks. No body likes or respects a bully.

The find of these tools, regardless of the actual date they were created, is interesting. Many more finds of such ancient tools are amazing to us today in their complexity and the the high level of thought required to produce them.

David, Karl Marx was the author of "The Communist Manifesto" (1848). He died (1883) more than 30 years before the Russian Revolution and for some convoluted reason, people cannot separate his life from the revolution. They believe that he actually was responsible for the revolution and the subsequent rise of communism that was sporn by the revolution. The revolutionaries corrupted his writings to suit their aims. To me Marx was merely an economist and applied his thoughts to the free market, foretelling the demise of capitalism. Should capitalism fail, are we also going to blame Marx for his 'corrupted' writings?

Evolution: Real Science or Nonsense?
by Martin Estrin, M.A.

Humans don’t seem very satisfied. There is always something else they feel they need. Where are they trying to get to? On the other hand, most apes are quite content. If I were to apply some home-spun logic to the theory of evolution, then I would logically have to believe that apes evolved from man.

If evolution means that a species changes to improve itself, it seems more logical that humans would grow hair to keep warm, reduce their diet to the most nutritious foods, eliminate high mortgages by adapting to the outdoors, and do away with money, complex governments, saying what you don’t mean, war, stress, traffic congestion, and genocide (which occurs when you let other members of your species needlessly starve). Apes have accomplished all this.

Apes, by evolving from man, have “created” a more workable and more sane life-style. If the ultimate aim in a more advanced society is for peace and equity, then those who evolved into the ape species have certainly surpassed their forbears of the human species.

Pass me a banana. I want to be an ape.

Tony, If science one day proves evolution all the way to the begining, how are you going to prove the big "accident" of nature isn't a miracle of God? Funny how they use the word "accident". I always thought an accident was a bad thing. Learn something new everyday. Just a thought. Ralph

Ralph. Prove that God exists and you prove Creationist theories might be right.

See I do keep an open mind.

Just another thought.
Why does every thread have to turn into a religious debate?
Gun control, global warming, 13000 year old rocks, and I could probably find a few more.

I suppose it would be easy to dismiss evolution if this is the level of one’s ignorance of the theory.

Its a little known fact that Karl was in fact the funniest of the Marx brothers.

Indeed–species don’t “improve themselves,” and they don’t improve, they just adapt. Evolution is not about progress, though it’s often misunderstood that way.

I’m not arguing your point…but why would a creature living in the sea need to adapt into a land animal when the Earth has always had more water than land?
Ralph

Charlie Tuna and Sponge Bob Squarepants look pretty happy were they are. Why go out on dry land, they can’t breathe, there’s no food, no beer, American Idol wasn’t on TV yet?

One could also ask, after ‘conquering’ the land, why go back to the sea?
