Last month I started to build a 7/8 enclosed water tower and pump house. It isn’t finished. Results so far.

Basic framework. Roof covered with a T shirt soaked in glue

Spout fitted. This assemble is temporary. I will refine it when I get the correct parts.

Nice work John. Did you glue each individual shake on the roof? Tedious, but beautiful.

Yes, every shingle was stapled and glued in place. All the siding and trim was hand cut and glued and pinned in place.

What is the reason for the Tshirt covered in glue?

It smooths up the uneven roof boards so shingles will apply easier, while at the same time forming a water barrier. I paint the entire roof with Tightbond 3

and then apply, stretch and smooth the cloth. Then immediately apply a coat of tightbond 3 again and smooth it out. It dries rock hard by the next day.

You trim the edges with an exact knife after it dries. You sand the little bumps out of it, then start roofing.

I might add, it’s a great way to make logging shacks with canvas roofs. Looks like a tent, but solid as a rock.

John, all your photos are on Facebook, and they just don’t show for me. (See attachment for what I see.) I can dig out a URL and view it, but I’m not inclined to bother for every single image.

Yes, I know it’s easy to post photos on FB from a mobile, but some of us do not use mobile apps.

Pete, I dunno. I see all of his pictures, and I don’t facebook, so I can’t be logged into facebook. That makes me wonder if its some setting in your browser that is causing the issue.

Pete, FB is easy to post pics here. I’ve tried to post from my albums and freight shed on this site and I can’t.

I’m tired of trying. I can experiment a little and try again, but it shouldn’t be so hard.

It didn’t use to be until Bob changed something.

I’ll go over to the test forum and mess around, but there are no guarantees.

Tried everything. Can’t post pictures from LSC freight shed or Albums.

It seems most people can see my pics from FB, so I have to stay with that for now.

And I’m not posting from a tablet or phone. I’m using a Mac.

John - yes, that one worked.

I think the problem is that I have Firefox on my laptop and it is set to “containerize” facebook. I suspect that is stopping me see an external facebook reference.

Aha! Got a solution. If I open the thread in a “Private Window” [usually used for naughty stuff] I see all your photos. Firefox must assume that in private mode Facebook can’t do anything to me. So problem solved, for me at least.

I use Firefox on both work and home computer and I can see them no problem.

Ill spend some time and re-do the picks from my Albums.

That will get them away from FB.
