Donald Tallman and the Strasburg RR’s Linn Moedinger, President of the Strasburg Railroadshops have an update on the status of RGS #20 restoration in the Strasburg RR shops.

They are looking for donations to speed up the restoration process.

From my perspective there is still along way to go, parts still need to be made before the final assembly can take place, I thought it was a lot further along than this. no idea on the totals raised and spent, but I would harbor a guess that there is still 500K needed to complete.

Unless the CRRM plans on operating this on other CO Narrow gauge RR’s, that is a lot of work and expense to just run in a circle at the museum.

However, that being said, it is nice to see another 3’ gauge loco restored.
