Picked up some live steam loco chassis and parts while in the UK. Amongst the parts were these two assemblies.

Top of the circular dome is bushed. The top and bottom of one corner have fittings directly opposite one another. One looks like apipe union fitting, the other possible a needle valve.

Any ideas on what its purpose is and what loco, engine, boat it may fit?

Could it be a custom shaped butane tank? it is a little hard to guess with out knowing their size.
