Has anyone taken the Plug doors off USAT 50’ Mechanical reefers and swapped them to the USA 50’ Boxcar?

This gets me to a somewhat prototypical boxcar I’m doing for Maine Central.

I personally have not done what you want to do. However I did pull the door off a 60’ boxcar and made my own door for a ghetto style 10’ rule Amtrak material handling car.

Do you have a link to the prototype car you are looking at?

Perhaps someone like Mark Dasknaw or GLX could 3D print a door to fit the exact dimensions needed for the boxcar.

On the other hand, If they are actually the same size (and removable), perhaps it’s something that Charles Ro Supply could have in stock.

Honestly you might be better off making a door if you can. It really isn’t that difficult unless you want it completely functional. The USA door doesn’t look like that door.
