For our Train guys update May 2016.

Before we could do any repairs and update on the R.R. we had to work on the old Koi fish pond. It been in there 35 yrs or more and starting to get a lot of cracks. It mostly due to a lot of shrub and large Pine Trees around it.

We even had to replace about 40 feet 50 yr old water pipes that starting to get pin hole leak in them. That piping gose under the walk bridge that runs over one part of the pond.

This is some of the crack that we started on repairs. Last fig. on water was around 16,000 gal that had to be pumped to the back Irrigation pond.

All of the Koi Fishs are in a portable 15 foot X 3 foot swimming pool with air pump and filters for now.

Never will build a large pond again… lot of work on them. If I had to do this over again, I think I would just raise the trains up on boards off the ground and put a small kiddie pool under it. Then just turn the pool over and dump the water… lol.

Tomorrow finish cementing places that need and seal the pond. Need to get this done and get the fish back in it in a few days. Then get back to the R.R. stuff.

More photos of the mess in progress.

Then got to
Re-pair Koi Pond May 2016

Update, 5/18/2016

Re-worked the Swing Bridge and upgraded the closed locking indicator LED’s to Bright Green. There mounted on the operators shack on the top of the bridge. Was very had to see in the sun light with just two normal Red LED’s.

Pond is filled and pumps running. Fri. will insert the Koi’s.

Oh . This morning, found a critter in the pond.

Now darn it… have to try to catch a 12 inch Turtle that came from the back pond.

Can’t get photos in. Had to learn how again by waiting for servers to upload the photos. Keep getting broken links… It (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)working now.

Ya i seen that and it photo bucket doing it when copy the suggested links… I have to take off of the link or add to it to get it to work. Got one working but rest not? It was the between servers time not waiting for them to work. It working ok now…

Living in the boonies doesn’t help much. Sometime thing are very slow on Comcast.com

Testing upload from hard dr.

Attachment is very small, but can view from your hard dr. photo program. Ok it works.

Just update on testing the R.R. with DBL LGB Forney Hooked together after install couplers. All of the buildings are in and wired up. Also, starting to install some animation around the layout.

Here is a short video of our testing.

Ben Shell help me get in new Computer/studio cam cables with yard router to help on going live channel. This way we can go off and on live in most areas. We are also going to tie in with Jerry Hansen in NBR. to help us out in our studio going live.

( Jerry and a few others use to be in our Fri. night “How to shows” once a month shows yr’s. back.)

We wanted to go on after dark for all of the lighting the layout and yard has. So our time of the tour is July 13th from 10am to 10pm.

Boy…we still have lots yet to do.

There is at last count… i see from July 11- 13ths are 21 open SVGRS layout on the end tours.

Looks like we are the last of the Mohegans going on same day and night as the Nat. Steam up starts.

Well our 32nd Garden R.R. tour day came… Boy hard to get any photo with people around the layout. At one time our parking lot was full. The live cam internet was over loaded and was only off and on up to 10 pm. Was a great time meeting people from all over.

Here was our animated signs.

Just some photos.

Ben Shell and Geo Nordstrom was running the Live cams.

Great to see you had a great turnout in Sacramento, I’m sure you had as much fun as we did in the Bay Area.

Really like this night photo that Ben Shell took.

Photo story: His wife is not happy due to …the Out House by the Train station ran out of toilet paper. “Darn, guess the set up guys mess up…We did later on found the missing toilet paper roll in the park.”

This is where our Get-together Train & Bbq Group.set up there Trains when we usually once a month in the evening having a Train run.

Just about every place on the Layout has a story to tell. That what make the hobby come alive with animation or just scenes.

Nice neat layout.

Thanks guys… Yes ( With our crew–Joel Harrison, Geo Nordstrom, Elden Bartley, Ben Shell to keep things running.) we had a great time.

More photo up on Flickr of ours.

All we can say is Wow. Its a photo of our Wilsonville that Ben Shell took on our evening night run of the 32nd Nat. Conv. tour.

Thanks, Ben Shell.

Finely got the Videos and photo up on You tube. It was hard to get photo during the open house so most was taken between guest.
