Santa Fe Coach Interior

MTH’s interiors are pretty bland and coach interiors back then were pretty colorful. I did the same to my UP set a year or two back. This is the observation car with the curved rear. I found some pix of Santa Fe coaches and some had a Indian upholstery theme. I found some pix of designs online and sized them to fit the seats. I printed them in Papillio ink jet vinyl. Peel off the backing and stick them on. Figures are those 1/32 figures you find on ebay from China. Lousy paint job, but from the outside they look fine. 3 cars to go! Good winter project.

Dang nifty idea.

Nice details Jerry

That looks great Jerry.(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

That is awesome.

Santa Fe all the way (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

Santa Fe? I thought it was Santa Clause.

Looks great Jerry. Did you add brighter lighting in order to see your inside work? All the coaches too? Wow! Snow up to my knees here. More time for inside work after the holidays.

Thanks Rich. MTH cars are lit up pretty well, so I just go with it. Got 3 coaches to go yet, been working on the rotary snowplow and ran it this morning, but the rails were iced up.

For my 2nd Santa Fe coach I decided to put in the kind of coach seating I saw when riding trains back in the 60’s. I had picked up a bunch of Great Trains coach seats and decided to use them. I cut off the molded seats with my band saw, worked pretty good, finished up with some sanding. My wife had this funky piece of fabric that I thought looked cool-these cars had some wild stuff back then. Will get the seats in, once I get them lined up with the window openings.

Jerry,

Looks great! I like the new seats. Are those something available by the bag full?

Kevin

Well I had a bag full Kevin, but used most of them. They were some leftovers from Great Trains, picked them up awhile back with some of their other parts.

I like the carpet
