Hi guys. I have a yellow LGB stock car I am adding to the fleet. I don’t mind the color but it needs to be dulled down. What would you recommend and is there a specific technique needed?
Thanks!
You could shoot it with a flat clear coat like Krylon
Yes, a coat of Krylon clear flat, or Testor’s Dulcote with definetly help. Krylon is less expensive.
Thanks, I’ll give it a shot.
A light dusting of white will help, as well. Or black, for that matter.
Steve, if I dust a car, I prefer a mid gray or light tan. Unless I just want to fade the lettering a bit, then I dust the car with a flat colour that either matches the car’s base coluor, or is a shade or two lighter.
That’ll work, too.
Or…,
You can take some rubbing alcohol and put a couple drops of India ink in it and slather it over the car with a soft paint brush.
“My Stock Car Is Too Glossy”. It sounds like a film noir detective movie from the 40s!
