Interesting, I’ve been thinking of either a small band saw or a small table saw and wondered about making straight cuts.

Table saw first. It’s more useful.

Couldn’t agree more with the following caveat … table saws make a MUCH larger pile of waste. Sometimes the blade leaves more on the floor than the piece being cut. :slight_smile:

I bought an inexpensive bar clamp from Harbor Freight to clamp to my bandsaw table for a guide. Seems to work OK for me.

This is the band saw rip fence I use.

Go to page 8 to see the two positions the fence can use set to easily.

Kind of one of those “duh” moments. It makes prefect sense as to why the blade wanders when you are cutting small dimensions.
