Retaining wall?

Hey Y’all!

been a while since a post, and I thought I’d come back in Grand Form with a question…

I need to build a small retaining wall, only about 3 landscaping blocks tall.

The area of the build is not level, but no Major shifts in grade and therein lies my question.

Do I have to dig a “foundation” the same depth around the entire perimeter of the wall, or can I allow the grade to make up the difference (Ex. on the front of the wall, it may be 3 blocks high, but can the side wall be two if the grade of the land allows.

does that make sense?

thanks!

cale-down on the farm

Cale, you can allow the grade to determine the number of courses of blocks. Because you probably don’t have to worry about frost heave you won’t need much of a foundation, just get down to solid ground and put down a complacted layer of crush or similar

Thanks Randy!

That was just what I wanted to hear!

And BTW, welcome back!
