2mm Drill bits

OK, my eyes are blurry from checking web sites…

Where is a good source, to get 2mm drill bits??? I have aristo’s taps & drill bits, but eventually, I keep snapping off the drill bits… So, now I have the taps, but need the 2mm Drill bits…

Thanks for your replys, in advance…

ENCO www.use-enco.com

I’ve used them quite a bit in the past for odds-n-ends. ALWAYS found them easy to work with.

As for 2mm bits, here are some:

Thanks for the imputs…

You could use a 5/64" drill, thats about 1.98mm, certainly close enough to 2mm for tapping.

Wayne, thanks… I knew a # 47 drill was 1.98mm, but haven’t been able to find them, and I had no idea what fraction measurement was close… You just answered that, thank you…

Andy, another source would be Tacoma Screw, look them up via Google! You might have to buy half a dozen bits but if you go thru them (like I do) you will always have one!

I really like McMaster-Carr (http://www.mcmaster.com). You can buy individual bits in exactly the size AND style you want http://www.mcmaster.com/#metalworking-and-multi-purpose-drill-bits-and-rods/=2ua808.

You might want to look at a short style like 28255A17.

They ship quickly and I always find lots of neat stuff to get from them.

thanks

I just sent and order to McMaster Carr for some special stainless wood screws I need for my steam up deck. I buy a lot of stuff from them.

You do not use a drill bit 2mm in diameter for a 2mm screw hole… 2mm is the outside diameter of the threads, so a 2mm hole would let the screw slide in it.
