I don’t see a single cut in that green cutting mat…Disappointed !

How did Aristo go out of business, he nearly supported the company all by himself. Look at all of them yellow boxes. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-surprised.gif)

I have a question for Lou: do you have any USATrains stock in addition to your Aristo stuff? And are all those boxes empty and the cars are out on the layout or stored somewhere?

Lou’s room looks kind of cozy, doesn’t it?

Well, John, in the last picture are hidden the USATs and a few AML boxcars. Most of my engines are USAT. They don’t fit in any of the pictures, in the “overflow” area.

As for the yellow boxes, I try to collect all of the Show Cars and Special Runs from RLD and Star Hobby. I am still looking for the MWLSTS MKT Double Door boxcars.

The unboxed cars are mostly outside in the shed. Oooh, I forgot the plastic shed. The basement has only a 5 foot clearance so I duck a lot! That’s why it looks so cozy. I can reach everything by turning around.

I’ll bet Paul Norton’s shop is cleaner than all those shown so far…!!!

I believe you are right on the money there Fred. I have seen a pic of Paul’s place on this or the other places.

Love all those yellow boxes Lou. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Except for a new magnifier, the work shop area has not changed much since I posted the article.

The MDF sheet on the work shop table is certainly grubbier.

I keep thinking about flipping it over, but there is always someone’s dismembered locomotive on it.

Work Shop

The computer side has a new wireless laser printer and all-in-one computer.

A printer Penny can access with her laptop, and a bigger screen for my failing eyesight.

That’s an office, Paul. This is what a shop looks like…

More work desks then shops, but they are clean and tidy…at least in the pictures I posted. But when I’m working on projects all the neat railroad memorabilia stuff moves and the desks get messy.

I use the archeology method of shop organization. If I can remember when I last used something, I know how deep to dig for it. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

No one has shops as organized as Matt And Paul. I think those pictures were photo-shopped…LOL

You too huh? I also use that method for important paperwerk. Its all in one pile, now when did I get it?

yeah but with me I put stuff in a SAFE PLACE until I need it, but somehow the SAFE PLACE is too safe as I cannot remember where it is. And it seems to move around quite frequently

Wow Pete. You do that too? (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

The totally amazing thing about “Squeaky Clean” Norton, is that he actually gets a lot of work done in that “Office”, when he gets in the mood…and even at the height of his “Work sessions”, you can eat his home made muffins off the surface of the “Desks”. No, Dave, he has not attempted to produce your “Upside-down pineapple muffins” yet, but I’m hoping he can sometime be persuaded to be the Eastern Canada provider, for that rare delicacy. !!!

YES, the floor is ALWAYS spotless too, and no his wife does not “Do windows”, or floors, from what I gather…!!

Yea, mee too.

On the same lines, a few years ago I made a list of things to buy at the ECLSTS. Bachmann metal wheels were on the list, since I only had a few in the bin on the wall behind my workbench, and none in their appointed space on the shelving unit in the garage. When I came home from the show, and went to put the case of them where they belonged, I couldn’t, because there was already a case of them there. Now, how did that happen? I could swear that that space was empty when I left town for York…

My large stuff work, like carpentry or yard machine repair, or whatever large thing that broke last, is all done in the garage. But my small (fun) stuff work is done in the basement. This used to be the “library” and storage zone for our home school operations. But after 3 out of 4 kids flying the coop, the book shelves have been gradually turned toward other purposes.

Not a big room, about 16x18. So gradually finding the organizational means for all the cra— modeling & other items has been a main theme for the transition of this space to hobby purposes. About half the shelves are still holding non-railroad-oriented-books, esp those behind the camera. The term “manifest destiny” comes to mind, not sure why…

The table in the center is the main work surface, which involves masonite sheets over a test track. I need a long Stanley 5’ plug strip on its end, and that was #1 on my Santa list this year.

My shop has three main functions: Train Bench, Mtn Bike/Road Bike Bench, and Wood Working scattered throughout the shop. I like the cluttered “Look” like most everybody else.

I see you haven’t used your garage door either in awhile…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
