What the heck would someone from Tuscan know about authentic Mexican??? We in N. Idaho know authentic Mexican(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif). Actually we are quite lucky. In my humble little town we have 4 Mexican restaurants that are very good and one is what I would call authentic. I used to live in So Cal and I have had the pleasure of eating in some truly authentic Mexican joints South of the border. One of my favorite Mexican food experiences was eating at a place between Rosarito and Ensenada Mexico on one of the back roads not on the highway. Place was made out of corrugated metal and our table was a pallet. The lady was on the side making tortillas on an open pit fire. Best tamales I have ever eaten

Very nice Jim! I have to second the kudos for making it IRL.

Eventually, once my foundry is done, I plan to take my digital version and make it real!

Thanks J.D. I took the real one and made a digital version in Paint Shop Pro. It’s not very good but I tried.

Here’s the company logo for the Washington Idaho & Montana Ry Co. As far as I can tell, they didn’t use it on any of their locomotives, but did on some of their rolling stock. I might use it. Haven’t made up my mind.

Here’s a preserved and restored WI&M caboose with the logo on the side. Note that it is the usual black letters on white background.

I like Taco Bell, and I like Mexican food.

To my knowledge the Pittsburgh and Castle Shannon didn’t have a logo. So I spent some time getting the lettering right, in MS paint, on my Winders 98se laptop, back when I started.

for me, as a spanish-speaker, the name “Chuparosa” is somewhat irritating.

even ignoring, who is Rosa.

Ken, Steve, nice logos.

Korm,

I’m not sure what you mean. Can you elaborate?

Chuparosa is a flower native to the So California desert. They are also known as hummingbird flowers.

Google it. No girl named Rosa involved He translated it literally as Rosa sucker.

Jim, i won’t elaborate.

Bill, thanks for the explanation.

Korm

You are welcome

Seems like everyone needed some clarification

I googled Chuparosa early April after reading about Ray Dunakin exploring in the desert.

From page 1. of this thread I asked this question.

“Does anyone know where I got the idea for the Chuparosa & Southern RR? Hint: It’s not from Ray Dunakin’s desert exploration.”

No one has answered the question.
