PRR MP-54

Nice Job Lou ! Product of a snowy weekend. Hope to see you at York.

Kevin

Thanks, Kevin. It and us will be there via Atlanta.

I need to get longer beads for insulators and then it is on to butchering a Doodlebug to a Combine MP.

I used to ride on those when I first started with the phone company

Dang …Ken’s old!

Lou

Honestly I think you are inspiring Ken and deep down he want’s one. Just like “back in the day in the hood”

So I tried to take a picture for size comparison for before and after.

But the difference is not noticeable unless you count windows. Found out the roof was loose, I forgot to screw it on. So I did.

Now I found out the lights don’t work! #!%$*^

Lou,

That came out really nice!! The B&M had a bunch of these received second hand to replace (some of) their Laconia wooden commuter cars. I’ve often thought about doing some of these myself. I think my next project, though, is an B&M American Flyer lightweight (Osgood Bradley).

Go for it! Plenty of Winter left!

Looks good Lou!

Ya’ gotta trim out the roof headlight a bit though

OK…Lou I have to jack up your thread cause were on page 3 and it’s legal by LSC rules (Steve said so years ago)

That’s the one without the light bulb!

OK, on to phase 2. Does this count as a napkin drawing? I scribbled on it!

So much easier 'bashing a Doodlebug. Gotta make doors and front windows. Gorilla glued sections together.

That brownish window will be covered. Decided to put masking tape on windows this time like Rooster suggested.

Rooster? Rooster? Here boy.

Nice start again

So I did not have enough of the interior roof lights, but I remembered some auto LED lights I picked up over a year ago to light up my buildings. I chose the yellow ones. Peel and stick, and a little solder.

Enjoy the builder’s pictures of the 2 car Mp-54.

A nice sunny day in the backyard.

In the distance, behind the road bridge is the old Camden & Amboy ROW.

The Pennsy MP-54s still ran on that track from South Amboy to Jamesburg into the 1960s.

They will make to the York Drag & Brag if they leave now, so ALL ABOARD!

Nice set of cars, Lou… Well done… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

We now bring you our official MP54 word of the day - spiffy.

So now you have to string some catenary to run them…

Good work Lou. They look “spiffy”. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

As for overhead wires: If I take my glasses off, I can’t see the wires, so I will run them with my glasses off!
