No matter how good something is, someone always want to “improve” it.
When Bob did this latest upgrade, there was the chance the site would go dark, and he said if it does, so be it. He had had enough of certain behavior here. So I think we should be glad the site is still here, and still works, and just leave Bob be.
Just my 2 cents, and thats only worth about 1/2 cent on the open market.
