Gallows turnable A frame

2nd post

Thanks to yo

Truss rod and turnbuckles is in brass. Turnbuckles is in tube brass of 3mm and filed on both faces

Here, you can see the two lowers abutment

I realized a span lock, (assembly but no fixed), of which think of it - you?

That’s nicely done.

Yea, it is. That is one detail I need to work out if I ever build the HO turntable I have in mind. Yes, its a Devonish project.

That lock is a very clever idea. Simple but effective. I like the way you angled the corners of the slide so that it will engage the fixe portion and pull the gallows track into exact alignment.

And then some. The sliding plate is great, but the linkage to operate it is top notch!

That’s how it is done J-G. Here is the lock on my club’s 2 foot gauge turn table…

Thanks to all for your comments.

Wow nice. You have amazing talent. Wish I had that kind of talent.

That is a very good looking turntable.

Chris

Well done! I have helped to build a real one, yours sure looks the part!

Excellent craftsmanship J-G. I’d love to have that on my layout.

I hope you keep the little white bear under control…he looks dangerous.

That is one fine piece of craftsmanship.

Today I am preparing ties for the ring rail and the retaining wall .
I have four bearings under the bridge, to go up the set and to install it on the layout of the Dead River Lumber Co

It just keeps getting better with each update.
