The Magic Motorman works just fine with my LGB power supplies and has for years.
Update: I purchased some traction tires for the loco and installed one today (that was quite the effort). I placed the loco on the track and as expected there was no more waddling. And… wait for it…the pilot also no longer jumps off the track when going through the switch! I’m scratching my head…

Waddling through the switch let the pilot work up and down against the rail head and climb the head and over…

Its like copier repair, fix the simple and obvious problems first, and sometimes the difficult and obscure problems are also fixed. The whole thing interacts with itself, so one symptom may be from what appears to be an unrelated problem.
