Thank you for the work as it’s “Greatly Appreciated” on my end!

Not sure how many of us are in the EU but thanks Bob. This new ‘privacy’ ruling is a two edged sword. Has it good points but is becoming a PITA it appears for those who surf a lot.

Top 10 countries:

United States 755(72.95%)
Canada 56(5.41%)
United Kingdom 46(4.44%)
France 39(3.77%)
Australia 27(2.61%)
Germany 16(1.55%)
Brazil 9(0.87%)
Italy 8(0.77%)
Netherlands 8(0.77%)
Switzerland 7(0.68%)

Digging further, traffic from the EU is roughly 12% of the site. That non-trivial.

Fortunately, I’m not a ‘business’ per-say, so its unlikely Ill draw the eye of any regulator, but I still need to keep my ducks in a row.

Very interesting. Hmmmmmm…are you hiding the stats from Russia and the Ukraine? Also, I see we have no railroaders from Japan? And where’s the stats for our boy from Paraguay? Wouldn’t he be like .00412 percent? Not to mention, where are the eight guys from Italy??? I’d love to practice some correct Italian, as opposed to the little I remember of my family’s unintelligible Sicilian/American dialect.

I sort of get the general idea, but I don’t understand a lot of all this cookie and security stuff that’s going on lately. I’m grateful that you (Bob) are up to the task of dealing with it.

Japan is down at #32

Some of tou may also remember that in years past we had an LSC member in Tokyo. The last we heard from him was when he was helping family after a big earthquake in Japan. I have often wondered about him.

Zbigniew Struzik, known as “Zubi” in many other forums.

He has not posted here since 2015, but on many other forums.

What do you need to do to be “compliant”?

A couple of things. I need to edit the sites Privacy Policy to outline exactly what we do (or, don’t do) with any personal data the site collects (which isnt much). There also needs to be an opt-in acknowledgement that is tied directly to the user. The kind of “We use cookies, click here…” that we’ve been seeing everywhere for the last several months. Its just a giant PITA, especially for hobbyist sites like this one that don’t actually make any money.

It sure sounds a lot like “make work”.

I often wonder how many people read those privacy notices? (Naturally, I read and ponder every word!!! (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif))

Well Bob, I know you sold my information to Victoria’s Secret, Her Place and other such businesses. Why else would I be getting all this spam, and these catalogs, about women’s underwear. Not that I don’t like looking at the pictures, I do like looking the pictures, a lot! (https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)But how many pairs of panties does one guy really need?

This post was all in jest,. Any similarity to any person living or dead is just a coincidence. To those who took offense, please bring it back. (https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

The way things are seemingly going for the EU at the moment -all this EU cookie rubbish will eventually cease to be regulation!!!(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)
