1963 1/2 Galaxie 500

I agree. Make it a reliable runner and use it.

Here’s a picture of my Monte during it’s restoration:

You gonna give me a ride in the Monte next time I stop in for a visit, RJ Smile

Galaxie is in the body shop. Same guy that did my 56 Buick(now sold). He works out of a small one car garage and does great work. Keeps finding rust on the car though. Told him I was going to quit dropping by! Will be red with a black top.

Jerry:

Thought you might be interested in Jay Leno’s 66 Galaxie, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-BL7G5m98M&feature=youtu.be, if your haven’t already seen it. Nice to have a virtually unlimited budget!

ed - link corrected, thanks Joe. Hey, it works when testing in edit, but stops after saving, a forum bug? Sure, blame the software, not the user!

Mark,

Here is a proper link to the Jay Leno video…http://youtu.be/V-BL7G5m98M

I’ve seen that. Was a section on the show ‘My Classic Car’ on Velocity channel. He usually hits Jay about every 4th show or so and rides in a couple of wild cars.

Ya it would be nice to have unlimited funds. I just need to get Jay to buy mine.Laughing Later RJD

Well I gave in and have been having the Galaxie repainted. Keeps draining my bank account but it about done. Hood and trunk need to get back on after they are sanded/polished. Car here has been sanded/buffed/polished. Had more rust than we thought, but got it done well.

Galaxie new Paint

Rear shot. He works in a one car garage, really hi-tech! But he does a nice job.

Jerry looking good and it is good if you can not do it you self too find someone like that to do it. RJ you got me what is that blue tank on the drivers side inner fender? Right now i’m putting disc. brakes on my toy.

richard

Isn’t that blue thing the valve cover?

David not in R.J.'s pic.

Thanks guys. Here’s the 352 that is in the Galaxie. Just a 2 barrel , which is fine with me, I just mosey around in it.

Sorry, I didn’t scroll back that far. It looks to be some kind of hydraulic do hickey of some sort.

Dang Jerry, be careful, you’ll end up being afraid to park it anywhere again

No Vic, first Saturday after it’s done I’m driving it downtown to coffee and park it, just like we do our $30-40,000 cars! I swear! Unless it is raining. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-innocent.gif)

That car is proof that even Ford could make a nice looking car once in awhile(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif) No seriously the mid 60’s galaxies were nice looking cars. Your doing a great job with it. Looks like it was a pretty straight clean car to start.

Richard. The blue tank is for the factory air ride leveling system. It only came on the SS models. Mine is now back form the shop and the engine compartment looks like it just came out of the factory. Sorry for the late reply. Seldom visit this site or any of the other train sites. Later RJD

Thanks R.J. never saw one before and if i did i don’t remember it.

Be careful, Jerry … That slippery slope is looming ahead! Next thing you know she’ll be a Trailer Queen only seen a shows!
