Empire Builder consist order

Evenin’, All - I would be very grateful if one of you knowledgeable folks over there could advise me on the passenger car order of the Chicago - Spokane ‘empire Builder’ train so’s I can replicate it in H0. Walther have produced the most BEEEYOOTIFUL set of cars and a suitable lash-up loco set to haul them, asnd I am not going to be happy till I see them running on MY track.

TIA

The consist was fluid, depending on the year and the season. The best resource is the Great Northern Historical Society. I have the the Walthers set and they are beautiful!

Each “Builder” did run, no matter what, with three dome/coaches and one full length dome/lounge car, offering 150 unsold dome seats to passengers.

Thanks, Ken and Steve, esp. for the booooootiful pic - makes ya cry to see it, eh? Graders tac

It is a beeyootiful pic…even without the train…much more impressive with…hope these help ya!

That is such a great photo!

I’m looking forward to the train and ferry trips Kay and I will be taking in Sept - Oct. Aside from the nostalgia, there is something uniquely relaxing in the experience, and it will be better doing it together than doing it alone.

Economy-class seats in a commercial jet? That’s a completely different thing.

TAC,
If you modeled the Builder, say around 1970, the cars would be:
Orange/Green
Blue/White
Green/Green
Silver
and a few others…

We called 'em the “Lifesaver Builder”.
