Windows part II

Since my last topic was glass, I will keep it separate from this post.

Acrylic, and other clear plastic.

Some tips on cutting, (without a mini table saw), easiest to use, etc.

Any and all tips would be appreciated.

i score the lines with a carpetknife and a steel ruler, then break the scored line over an edge.

not every line gets straight, not every break happens along the line.

Score and snap with a straightedge like Korm says. But I use the tool designed for the job https://www.amazon.com/Hyde-Tools-45730-Knife/dp/B000C027ZE

Korm, Carpet knife? That looks like a scalpel!

for thin carpets… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

seriously, the carpetknife is not on the pic. the scalpel was for cutting the plastic stripes for the window frames to length.

What’s the easiest format to work with? Acrylic, polycarbonate,…

Thickness? 1/16 (.0625) or thinner.

the stuff, that i bought as acrylic, is 2mm /about 1/16" thick.

I notice that the HARD type dental splints used in dental vacuum forms can be had 1mm thick and 1.5mm thick from China for a pack of 20 sheets (and crystal clear) via

EBAY . Make sure you order HARD as the soft one is opaque. EAXH sheet is 127mm x 127mm (some are this size and other show 130 x 130)

PS…I see 1/2mm is also available from some dealers.
