Large Scale Central

V&T Drawings

Does anyone have a source for copies of original V&T drawings for rail cars and trucks ?

thanks

David,

A good source of info is the booklet by Mike Collins and Steven Drew:

Which one were you interested in? The McKeen car probably has good info somewhere (it exists at NV State RR Museum). The #24 was just a Ford “Touring” Model T, with a rail conversion kit by Kalamazoo (I’ve looked hard for drawings on that, no joy yet).

The rail buses (#23 & #99) may have info somewhere; you might have some success looking into those company’s records, not sure. I’ll ask Mike if he knows (I’ll be seeing him this morning).

Cliff

Cliff, thanks for the link. What I’m looking for is the purpose built 30’ flat used to transport steam engines. This car was discussed at the V&T conf this last weekend

David,

OK, quite different. They handed out photocopies of Mike Collins’ drawing, I’ll see what I can do.

Welcome to LSC David

David, no word on a drawing for the transfer car yet, but I just posted on its reconstruction at NSRM here:

Cliff, thanks for the link. I have been in contact with Wendell at the museum. He has been sending me info on the bits, pieces etc. I’m working with a friend to build this car in 1:20.3. Currently working on dimensions for the truck components and the bolsters.

thanks again for the info. If you come across anything else, please let me know

Good deal. Wendell’s the man!
