Rocky Brook Rocket

Thought some of you might like this documentary on the little ride on train in our municipal park. Its kind of long at 44 minutes but has some good history about the railroads in my hometown and the park train. Hope you enjoy it.

Can’t get the video to embed. Followed the instructions found HERE. Tried with Chrome and Edge, no luck

“That looks good right there” A classic carpentry and engineering principle.

Am skipping and skimming through the video. That park rehab turned in to quite a comprehensive project.

Where’s the rocket ?

Dan,

It doesn’t work because those instructions are wrong.

Here are the embedding instructions that work.

Great story Dan! Of course how can I not like something called “Municipal Monkey Park”?

Sounds like the basis for a screen play… “Save the Rocket” coming this Christmas from Disney Studios…starring Sam Worthington as Matt Battles, Clint Eastwood as Joe Sanchez, John Goodman as Sam Bailey, Joe Pesci as Mayor Gary Fuller and introducing some little kids as the children of Rocky Brook fighting to save their railroad…and this time its personal!

Thanks John for making it work. Joe, thanks for the instructions. So, if I understand correctly, how I was going about getting the embed code was wrong, not how I was posting it. I’ll give it a try when I get back to my PC. My generation still refers to the park as the Monkey Park. When we were growing up, Monkeys were kept in an enclosure in the park and you could watch and feed them. The City finally donated them to the Montgomery zoo because idiots kept letting them out.

Boomer, sounds like a great script and cast. You could direct it. Did you happen to catch ZZ Top’s cameo appearance?

Great video Dan! I guess that the train builder company is out of business but wow it lasted a long time before it needed to be overhauled. Nice looking locomotive and cars.

So, when is the Rocket going to go hydrogen?

Like this:

"AUSTRIA: To support its development of a hydrogen fuel cell for use on locomotives, Railway Competence Certification is undertaking a proof-of-concept demonstration on the 381 mm gauge Liliputbahn miniature railway in Wien’s Prater park. "
