Android Bluetooth to Battery DCC

I got a bit bored as I wait on my PCBs to get here so I pulled another project off the back burner and refactored some code. This is an Android app I wrote in Python some time ago which talks to one of my control widgets using Bluetooth. Its the same code I use in all my widgets to drive DCC with the same amp design. It’s not finished, it needs a considerable amount of error checking etc and I don’t have the function buttons ‘connected’ in the code yet. Plus there are all sorts of features I’d like to add but I’m happy where it’s going so far. I’ll eventually interface this into the IoT network, probably via Wifi tho, not BT. Anyhow, thought I’d demo it up, so here is a quick video.

Interesting!!

I am toying with using Raspberry Pi to add some control into my railway.

Long way to go but in 2 years time I will have a lot of spare time that will need occupying.

Can you please give a quick laymans description of what is involved eg what components are required I’m guessing ESC, sound module, DCC and decoder etc.

Graeme, thanks for the interest.

Here is a diagram of what I am doing:
