I can’t get the damm thing apart enough to rewire the head light. I have removed every screw in sight that could hold it together. Can’t get the boiler, frame, cab, and smokebox front apart. Seems like it is welded together.

Anyone know the secret? Any manuals available? Don’t know the model number but the road ID is ATSF 1217. Came from a starter set. Made about 2000 or later.

LGB 20230 or 20232 are the 2 diagrams for the 2-4-0.

I have taken more than 15 of these apart, make sure you disconnect the front steps .

Motor block is very tight in the frame.

What I do…

Remove cab first.

Remove firebox, screws are in side cab area. Need this done to remove boiler.

When putting the firebox back together, the slide switch keeps you from reassembling. I use a small flat screwdriver to’lift’ the switch via the rectangular hole to get the firebox in place.
